About Stelios
Contemporary guitarist, composer and producer Stelios K developed an interest in music at an early age when he started playing guitar at the age of 6. His first professional experience came at 14, when he started playing music at Greek weddings in his native country, Cyprus. After graduating from high school and completing his military service, he moved to London where he studied Engineering. However, his passion for music proved much stronger. He relocated to Los Angeles where he attended Musicians Institute (GIT). He then moved back to the UK to continue his music education at the London College of Music, graduating with First Class Honours in Music Performance. Stelios’ guitar playing is deep-rooted in his long lasting influences of Funk, Soul, R&B, Blues and Rock with Jazzy influences.
Stelios is the Musical Director for Shalamar and has worked with a host of artists such as Grammy® Award winners Patti Austin and Gloria Gaynor, One Direction, Olly Murs, Jason Donovan, Rick Astley, Belinda Carlisle, Paul Young, Nik Kershaw, Sister Sledge, Mica Paris, and many more. He has also served as the guitarist for various house bands such as the UK X-Factor Live Tour, Rewind 80s and Cool Britannia 90s Festivals.
As a solo artist, his self-titled release “You Are The One” is featured on the Jazz FM Records album “Driftin”, appearing alongside such soul and smooth jazz greats as Aaron Neville, Patti Austin, Jeff Lorber and Rick Braun.
As a composer, Stelios' music can be heard on the BBC, Netflix, Discovery and History Channels, as well as film trailers and commercials for companies such as Studio Canal and Bosch.
Stelios is the guitarist for Art Rock band Five Grand Stereo. Their debut album “Sex & Money” has received rave reviews from publications such as The Irish Times, The Independent, Music Week, Clash and Classic Rock Magazines and airplay on radio stations such as BBC Radio 2 and RTE Radio 1.
